Your privacy on KindDate
Last updated
KindDate is being built so people can date more honestly — and that has to include being honest about data. This page explains, in plain language, what the preview does and does not do with your information. The guiding rule is simple: collect as little as possible, keep it clear, and never trade your trust.
The short version
- No account, no profile, no matching yet. The preview does not ask you to sign up or create a dating profile.
- Aria chats live in your browser tab. A conversation is held only in the tab you are using and is cleared when you refresh, close it, or start a new chat.
- Messages you send to Aria are processed to reply. They pass through KindDate’s server to an AI provider so an answer can be generated — they are not used to build a profile of you.
- We do not sell your data or run ad targeting.
What this policy covers
This policy explains how the public preview of KindDate handles information. KindDate is an early, deliberately limited product. Today it offers Aria, an AI dating coach you can use by text or call to practice out loud. Human profiles, matching, and member-to-member messaging are not live, so this policy does not describe them yet. When those features are built, this policy will be updated before they launch.
Aria conversations
When you talk with Aria by text, the conversation is stored only in the browser tab you are using, so the chat panel and the Aria pagecan share it. Refreshing the page, closing the tab, or choosing “New chat” clears it. There is no saved-chat library, no remembered profile, and no cross-device history in this preview.
When you press Send, your message and the current tab’s conversation are transmitted to KindDate’s server and, from there, to a configured AI provider (currently OpenAI and/or Anthropic) so that a reply can be generated. This processing is the only reason your message leaves your browser. Aria may also receive a short, approved label for the KindDate page you are on (for example “safety”) — never an unrestricted copy of your screen.
Please do not share highly sensitive personal information, financial details, or another person’s private data in a chat. Aria is a coaching tool, not a secure vault.
Voice input and Aria's voice
Voice is optional. If you use voice input, your browser’s own speech-recognition turns speech into draft text; the resulting text is then handled the same way as a typed message. If your browser does not support it, the control says so and you can keep typing.
Aria’s spoken voice is generated in your browser. The voice model is downloaded once from a public model host and runs locally, so the audio of Aria speaking is produced on your device rather than sent back and forth to a server.
The early-access waitlist
If you choose to join the waitlist for early access to matching, we store the email address you enter so we can notify you when there is something to invite you to. That is the only thing the waitlist collects. You can ask us to remove your address at any time (see your choices). We do not add you to a marketing list or share your address with anyone else.
Analytics and cookies
To understand which pages and features are useful, KindDate uses privacy-respecting product analytics that record aggregate, de-identified events — for example that a page was viewed or that Aria was opened. We do not use this to identify you personally, and analytics load after the page is interactive so they never slow it down.
The preview does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking for ad targeting. If we ever introduce cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your choice first.
What KindDate does not do
- It does not build an advertising or behavioural profile of you.
- It does not score, rank, or diagnose you or anyone you mention.
- It does not keep your Aria conversations after the tab is closed in this preview.
- It does not sell or rent your data.
How long information is kept
Aria conversations are not retained after the tab is cleared. Waitlist email addresses are kept until early access launches or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first. Aggregate analytics are kept in de-identified form.
Your choices and rights
You can clear an Aria conversation at any time with “New chat”, a refresh, or by closing the tab. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold — which, in this preview, is essentially a waitlist email if you provided one. To exercise a right, or to have your waitlist email removed, contact us using the details below and we will act on it.
How we protect information
Connections to KindDate are encrypted in transit. Provider credentials are held only on the server and are never exposed to your browser. We apply a strict content-security policy and keep the attack surface of the preview small on purpose. No system is perfectly secure, so please share only what you are comfortable sharing with a coaching tool.
Adults only (18+)
KindDate is for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the preview, contact us and we will remove any associated information.
Changes to this policy
As KindDate grows beyond the preview, this policy will change — for example when accounts, profiles, or matching are introduced. We will update the date at the top and, for material changes, make the update clear on the site before the new feature is available.
How to reach us
A staffed public contact channel is not published yet — we would rather say that plainly than point you at an inbox no one is watching. A dedicated privacy contact will be published on this page before KindDate asks you to rely on it. In the meantime you can ask Aria about how the preview handles data, or read the related Support and Safety pages.
This policy describes the current public preview and will be expanded before accounts, profiles, or matching go live. It is written to be clear rather than exhaustive, and is not a substitute for formal legal advice.
